Alumnus J. Luke Wood appointed ninth president of Sacramento State

Sacramento State’s incoming president is “Made at Sac State” and proud of it.

CSU trustees have appointed J. Luke Wood as the University's ninth president. Wood, who is currently vice president for Student Affairs and Campus Diversity and chief diversity officer at San Diego State University, earned a bachelor's and master's degree from Sac State.

He will assume the presidency July 16, after the departure of retiring President Robert S. Nelsen.

"For me, it's coming home," Wood said.
