UTA alum Jaime Govea teaches quantum principles to students

More than 70 high school students and science teachers gathered in Arlington this summer for UTA's Quantum for All workshop and camp. The two-week event is part of a national pilot program—led by Karen Jo Matsler, assistant professor in practice—that provides training to teachers so they can introduce quantum information science (QIS) concepts to students in high school. Although QIS is used for everything from cellphones to MRI machines, it is not typically taught until late in college.

A team of researchers at UTA has developed software that prevents artificial intelligence chatbots such as ChatGPT from creating phishing websites—a growing concern as cybercriminals have been utilizing the technology to design scams.
