| Temporary road closure near Maverick Stadium
|
The Office of Facilities Management has scheduled the temporary closure of the road adjacent to Studio Arts and Maverick Stadium’s east side. The road closure, in effect today, Tuesday Feb. 13, 7 a.m.-7 p.m., is necessary to facilitate the operation of a mobile crane, which will be utilized to replace an air conditioning unit. During this time, personnel will be stationed to monitor and direct pedestrian traffic.

On Thursday, Feb. 15, the first 300 students to arrive at the men’s basketball game, presented by American Campus Communities, will receive a blackout T-shirt. The doors will open at 6 p.m., with tip-off at 7 p.m. To get your shirt early, be one of the first 100 students to stop by The Arlie (815 W. Abram St. in Arlington) on Thursday between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The College of Education is hosting its first-ever Saturday information session, and you’re invited! If you're thinking about graduate school and want to find an online program in education, register for this virtual event, which will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17.

| The Polar Bear Plunge will be Tuesday, Feb. 20, 7-8:30 p.m., at the Physical Education Building’s outdoor pool. Registration is free for students with donation to the Maverick Pantry. Donations will be collected on the day of the event at the pool. The first 75 who register, donate, and take the plunge will receive a free T-shirt.

The Career Development Center needs student volunteers for the All-Majors Job and Internship Fair on Wednesday, March 6, 12-4 p.m. Perks of volunteering include potentially meeting recruiters as you escort them to their booths, earning volunteer hours, and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the job fair that could help you prepare to attend in the future.
