Staff Council Professional Development Conference and Appreciation Lunch: April 30 Deadline

The Staff Council Professional Development Conference and Staff Appreciation Lunch will be held May 20.

The Professional Development Conference will offer both in-person and virtual attendance options. Register by April 30 to enter a raffle and preview the keynote speaker. Register for Conference.

A separate registration is required for the Staff Appreciation Lunch. Staff must register by April 30 to guarantee a lunch reservation. Lunch reservations are not guaranteed after that date. Register for Lunch.

UMKC Staff Volunteers Needed for April 19 Cleanup

The Staff Council Outreach Committee invites staff volunteers to join the Great Kansas City Cleanup. UMKC volunteers will clean Brush Creek Trail from Martin Luther King Jr. Square Park to the William Volker Memorial Fountain on April 19 at 10 a.m. Families are welcome; participants must be 8 or older. Space is limited to 15 volunteers. Register by April 16.

Join UMKC Staff Council at JA BizTown on May 9

The Staff Council Outreach Committee will host its annual Junior Achievement volunteer day May 9 from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. UMKC volunteers will staff JA BizTown storefronts, assisting students under the guidance of Junior Achievement staff. Position-specific training will occur the morning of the event; no prior training is required. Storefronts will be assigned the day of the event, and no industry-specific knowledge is required. Register by April 18.

Community Blood Center to Host Blood Drive on April 15

Donate blood to save lives. Staff Council encourages participation in the Community Blood Center drive April 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pierson Auditorium, Atterbury Student Success Center (ASSC). Register at the Community Blood Center website.

37th Annual AIDS Walk Kansas City April 26: Volunteers are needed to serve as course guides to ensure walker safety. Sign up.
2026 Alumni Awards nominations due April 30: Nominate alumni for outstanding industry contributions. View details and nominate.
Hospital Hill Run May 31: Course monitors needed. Volunteers will guide runners along the race route. Group registration or questions: Contact Jayden Hicks at jayden@uncoverkc.org. Sign up.

Next UMKC Staff Council Meeting May 7 at 8:30 a.m. on Health Sciences Campus: Chancellor C. Mauli Agrawal to Speak

UMKC Staff Council meetings are open to all. Meetings are typically held the first Wednesday of each month, 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., both in person and via Zoom.

The next meeting is scheduled for May 7 in the School of Medicine Theater C (M1-408) and via Zoom. Chancellor C. Mauli Agrawal will join as the special guest.
