New Public Art Opportunity in Salt Lake County

We are seeking qualifications from Utah-based artists to create artworks for the upcoming Department of Public Safety Evidence Warehouse. This facility will house the State Bureau of Investigation Evidence Management department and include space for the preparation and booking of evidence and short- and long-term evidence storage, among other things.

The Selection Committee would like to commission multiple artworks to be displayed throughout the interior of the building. They are interested in artworks that explore the beauty of Utah and bring color and texture into the space. Deadline to apply: May 11.

Artist Selected for USU
Human Resources Building

We are delighted to announce Heath Satow as the commissioned artist for the upcoming Utah State University (USU) Human Resources Building. His proposed piece is a sculptural reflection of the impactful influence of the Office of Human Resources at USU. Subtly woven into the building’s architecture, the small golden rectangles represent small but meaningful moments that make an impact. The ripple-like form symbolizes how these small actions, when aligned with people’s needs, can extend beyond their beginnings.

Artist Commissioned for
Richfield Regional Center Project

We are pleased to announce another artist commission: Mark DeGraffenreid was selected to create a sculptural piece for the upcoming Richfield Regional Center. Honoring the rich history of quilting in Sevier County, his proposed sculpture depicts a woman with a large quilt draped over her shoulders. She is dressed in modern clothing to represent the present day, while the quilt symbolizes a connection between past, present, and future. The sculpture will be a warm welcome to all visitors and employees of the building, where four state agencies will be housed.
