See the slopes from a different perspective by hiking to the top of Spruce Peak. This 5-mile hike takes you up some of the ski trails where you will get views of The Lodge, Stowe, and possibly even some of the White Mountains to the east. Once you’ve conquered the steep slopes with an elevation gain of 2000ft, there will be a spectacular view of Mount Mansfield and the surrounding area. Enjoy this scenic and energizing hike in the Green Mountains and take in one of the best views in the area.

Elephants Head Hike: Intermediate/ Advanced rating  | Fridays   9:00am

Take a different route to see a wonderfully unique view of Mount Mansfield. This trek brings you on the Long Trail with steep ascents, river crossings, and rocky edges along the southwest side of Spruce Peak. An out and back route with an elevation gain of roughly 2000ft, this hike will leave you satisfied with picturesque views and trails.

Sterling Pond Hike: High Intermediate/ Advanced rating | Sundays    9:00am

Similar to our Spruce Peak Hike, the Sterling Pond trails follow our ski trails straight up the side of Spruce Peak. Connecting with the Long Trail, the trek to Sterling follows on the ridgeline to the Vermont highest Alpine pond. This 6-mile hike will have you ascending the rocky slopes with an elevation gain of roughly 2000ft! And the addition of the serene pond will elevate your hiking experience in the Vermont natural areas. Appreciate the wonderful views of Stowe and unique scenes of the Alpine Pond here at Spruce. Cool off with a swim in the pond or pack a lunch for once we get to the top for more time in nature.

Mount Mansfield Hike: Expert rating (most advanced offering) | Saturdays 9:00am

Hike the tallest mountain in Vermont and get amazing views of surrounding mountains and Lake Champlain! This tour offers a mix of a number of different trails and has a wide variety of terrain and plenty of different sights to see. With varying terrain and an elevation gain of 3000ft, you will get the entire Vermont hiking experience. This 7-mile hike will test your limits and leave you feeling invigorated and fulfilled.

Barnes Camp Loop: Intermediate rating | Saturdays 12:00pm

Hike around the Barnes Camp to get a taste of a Vermont adventure! With a creek crossing, varying terrain, scenic views of the mountains, and heavy foliage this tour has a little of bit everything that incapsulates some of the elements of a true Vermont hiking experience.
