Black Church Studies Distinguished Lecture

On Monday, February 24 at 4:00 p.m., the Black Church Studies Program is hosting a public lecture "Take Me To the Water: Black Mothers, Black Madonnas, and the Initiation of Possibility" with Dr. Amey Victoria Adkins-Jones, Assistant Professor of Theology and African and African Diaspora Studies at Boston College. Dr. Adkins-Jones will also be the guest preacher/speaker in chapel and community conversation on Tuesday, February 25.

 

Weekly Chapel Service and Community Conversation

Join us at 11:00 a.m. for chapel service. This week's chapel service will be a celebration of Black History Month with Dr. Amey Victoria Adkins-Jones. The service will be followed by a shared meal and community conversation in Bass Conference Center.

 

Faith Advocacy Gathering 

The Raise Your Hand Texas is hosting an interfaith public education advocacy gathering MONDAY, FEBRUARY 24 at 6:00 p.m. at Ridglea Christian Church. This event is an opportunity to build community among advocates during the Texas Legislative Session, update folks on the latest in the Texas Capitol, and mobilize to support advocates and engage lawmakers around supporting public school funding.

Women as Agents of Change

The Center for Lifelong Learning is hosting a free one-day women's leadership conference "Women as Agents of Change" on Saturday, March 15. Center for Theology and Justice

Nominations are now open for the 2025 CTJ Awards. Awards will be presented at the CTJ Dream Justice Event on Thursday, March 27 at Dee Kelly Alumni Center. 

Alumni Excellence Award: This award is for for a Brite Divinity School alum who has been active and engaged in advocacy and social or civic work that intersects with their ministerial efforts.

Community Impact Award: This award is for any Fort Worth-based organization doing exemplary work for communities directly impacted by the prison industrial complex, educational oppression, maternal mortality, racialized subjugation, class and citizenship oppression, economic, ecological, etc.
