APPEALS COURT REVERSES BIDEN-ERA STUDENT LOAN REPAYMENT PLAN
A US Court of Appeals has reversed a lower‑court decision that dismissed the case challenging the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) income‑driven repayment plan, effectively ending the program. The reversal ends a district court order that had allowed a previous settlement to stand and clears the way for the administration to terminate SAVE as previously agreed. Department of Education Undersecretary Nicholas Kent said, "In the coming weeks, the Department will issue clear guidance on next steps for borrowers enrolled in the illegal SAVE Plan, including details regarding how borrowers can move into a legal repayment plan. The Trump Administration will continue to realign the federal student loan portfolio to better serve students and taxpayers."
