As the start of semester approaches, I want to make you aware of an issue affecting some of our international students. Due to ongoing U.S. visa processing delays—caused in part by appointment backlogs at consulates—some international students may seek to arrive on campus after the semester has started.
While many students have already secured their visas and made travel arrangements, some are still waiting for interview appointments or final visa issuance.
If you have a student who informs you that they expect to arrive after the add/drop period, please refer them to the Office of Global Programs (Global@umb.edu). Our team will work with the student to explore possible options—to support both the student and your course planning.
We deeply appreciate your assistance in helping these students feel supported.
