We are also working in close partnership with our national associations. The American Council of Education, along with 15 higher education associations, sent a letter requesting a briefing to better understand agency policy and any planned actions related to international students.
Law enforcement officers have not come on campus or contacted the University regarding these visa revocations. We do want to remind our campus community about the guidance for how UTA students, faculty, and staff should respond if approached by agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement or Customs and Border Protection.
We recognize that this may be a difficult time for students, faculty, and staff given all the uncertainty. Confidential support for mental health is available through Counseling and Psychological Services and is free for all students. The Office of Talent, Culture, and Engagement offers the Employee Assistance Program to provide confidential resources and support for faculty and staff.
International students are and will remain valued members of the Maverick community. We have a long history of welcoming students from all over the world. University administrators, along with the Executive Orders/Federal Change Task Force led by Shelby Boseman, will continue to monitor and assess the situation and will provide updates should there be additional implications for the UTA community.
