   TRUE MAROONS
We recently welcomed back the 2014 state champion football team and recognized them during halftime of the DCHS vs. Ankeny Centennial game. Thanks to everyone who joined us! Once a Maroon, Always a Maroon!
Thanks to Dr. Steven Craig '72 who recently served as the first guest speaker for the new DCHS Career Academy, a program for sophomores interested in the fields of Health Sciences and/or Engineering and Technology. Dr. Craig shared his educational and career path and helpful insights for students on how to prepare in high school, what to do in college to get admitted to medical school, and more.
Thanks to our alumni who helped make the 63rd Annual Pancake Breakfast a success by attending, volunteering or helping sponsor the event. Your support is greatly appreciated! Proceeds from the event will support the new student activities endowment and the 90+ clubs and extracurricular activities offered at DCHS. Pictured: Rico Gafford '14 and his wife Elma.
Congratulations to Caitlin Clark '20, the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year! During her first year she recorded the most assists in a single season, led the Indiana Fever to their first 20-win season since 2015, was the first rookie to record a triple-double, and the first player in WNBA history to lead the league in assists to name just a few of her achievements. We are proud to recognize her success with a wall honoring Clark, Olympians Miranda Leek '11 and Karissa Schweizer '14 and other notable Maroons in the gymnasium lobby. Once a Maroon, Always a Maroon!
