Winter Closure and Services

As the semester comes to an end, we wanted to remind you that our office will be closed for the holidays on Friday, Dec. 22, and reopen on Tuesday, Jan. 2. Our office will close at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 21. If you have an immigration status-related emergency when the ISSS office is closed, please call Public Safety at (415) 422-4201. As always, please email our office with any questions or concerns. We wish you a restful winter break!

Staying in the Bay Area for winter break?

Check out these happenings and activities in the Bay Area!

See the San Francisco Ballet's Nutcracker at the War Memorial Opera House. Grab your tickets — the show is running from Dec. 13–30.
Enjoy the holiday decor and go ice skating in Union Square in the outdoor skating rink! Purchase tickets.
Visit the Fairmont Hotel in Nob Hill. They have a two-story gingerbread house made of real gingerbread. You can even go inside the house and enjoy some tea!

Find Your Most Recent I-20

Do you have your most recent I-20 in your possession? If you already have an I-20 with a valid travel signature in your MyISSS account, you can go to Requests & Documents on the newly updated MyISSS portal and find your latest I-20 under Documents. Review the updated MyISSS Student Handbook for additional information on how to submit or review your requests.

Please note that requests submitted by Thursday, Dec. 15, at 4 p.m. PST will be processed before winter break. Any requests submitted after that will be processed after we return on Tuesday, Jan. 2.

Travel Signature Days

For students who are traveling during the winter holiday, ISSS is holding Travel Signature Days until Dec 11, during which any submitted travel signature requests will be processed by Dec. 15.

ISSS OFFICE RESOURCES

Requesting a Document from ISSS?

If you are requesting an immigration document or letter from our office, remember that we request ten business days to process requests. Make sure you plan accordingly so you have enough time to receive your document before you need it. All ISSS requests should be submitted through the MyISSS student portal (login to your MyISSS account, go to Requests & Documents, and select the appropriate icon on the right side of the page). You can view our MyISSS Student Handbook for assistance with your submission.

Adviser Appointments and Workshops

Appointments can be made online. Please visit the ISSS website to schedule an appointment. Appointments are still booked in 15-minute increments. To schedule a workshop, select workshops from the first menu option in our scheduler. Students must complete an OPT workshop before applying for OPT.
