October 2024 |
During Apple Month Since October is National Apple Month, perhaps it's time to host a Gala, play some Jazz, and invite Granny Smith, Jonathan, and Pink Lady to join the fun. According to the U.S. Apple Association, the average American consumes roughly 19 pounds of apples per year. Here's some other trivia about this popular fruit: Washington State produces 70 percent of the apples in our country. The only native apple to North America is the crabapple, first cited in Boston in 1625. It takes around 36 apples to produce one gallon of cider. |
Happy Workaversary
Congratulations to our Dispatch Coordinator Jodi Irlbeck on 21 years of service with WIN and Combination Technician Alexx Aldag on completing his 3rd year! We were happy to be a part of the Tri-City BBQ Fest in Denison again this year as the Big Game Zone sponsor. Attendees were able to enjoy the big game while also enjoying live music and the best BBQ around! |
October Is National Cybersecurity Awareness Month
National Cybersecurity Awareness Month spotlights cybersecurity as a shared responsibility that affects all Americans. It's a collaborative effort between the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and its public and private partners, including the National Cyber Security Alliance. The goal is to raise awareness about the importance of cybersecurity to help individuals stay safe and secure online. As threats to technology and confidential data become more common, it's important to take steps to reduce your chances of being affected. Turn on Multifactor Authentication, update your software, think before you click, and use strong passwords. We were able to attend the career fair at Denison Community High School recently. We had lots of great conversations with students who were able to learn more about our company and career opportunities. We were able to be part of the Glenwood Homecoming Parade again this year. It's always fun seeing the swarms of people along the parade route as well as hearing all of the great comments from customers along the way. The 2024 Carroll Band Day Parade was a hit again this year! Thank you to everyone who acknowledged us along the way! 📷 Michele Black We were happy to be a part of the Carroll County 4H Awards Rally again this year. Congratulations to those receiving awards for Outstanding Recordkeeping! |
