NSF ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF RESEARCH SECURITY TRAINING MODULES
The National Science Foundation (NSF) announced this week that it would launch four research security training modules in hopes of fostering open and transparent research collaboration in a secure environment. The four modules include an introduction to research security, the importance of disclosure, managing and mitigating risk and the importance of international collaboration. The NSF has said the implementation of these modules was fueled by the CHIPS and Science Act, stating, "These training modules signify a major first step in reconciling the needs of the research, law enforcement and intelligence communities to pursue trusted relationships in the global research community while minimizing economic and security risks."
