| Let’s Bring Mental Health Awareness Month To the Forefront |
Mental and physical health are indeed interconnected as we age, and often mental health issues in older adults go unrecognized or often mistaken for a normal part of aging. Depression, anxiety, dementia, substance abuse and suicide risk are all signs that something should be addressed sooner, rather than later. Although caregivers are not trained for treating these symptoms, they can observe and report signs of changes to their supervisor so their clients can get checked out professionally.
