As we move into the final stretch of the semester, we want to remind you of the valuable academic support services available to students through the Learning, Writing, and Speaking Centers (LWSC). Whether students need help with course-specific tutoring, writing assistance, or public speaking coaching, the LWSC offers a wide range of resources to support their academic success.

In addition to individualized support, the Learning Center provides various opportunities for students to strengthen their academic skills, including one-on-one coaching, group workshops, and online resources. We encourage you to share these opportunities with your students as they prepare for finals and beyond.

Below, you'll find more details about our upcoming workshops, drop-study sessions, and important announcements, which are designed to help students finish the semester strong.

Wednesday, Nov. 20 | 6–7:30 p.m. | UC 504

The Learning Center is hosting an in-person workshop designed to equip students with essential strategies for a successful exam period. Participants will learn techniques for structuring study time, adopting a positive academic mindset, and utilizing a comprehensive final exam planning guide. The workshop will also cover effective test-taking and exam-preparation strategies. An academic skills coach will provide guidance on creating personalized, realistic study schedules tailored to individual needs. Attendees will leave with a toolkit of strategies to approach finals with confidence and focus. Light bites will be provided.

This is a great opportunity for students to receive personalized help and boost their confidence before finals. 

Our office will remain open with limited service during the final exam period, from Dec. 6–12. The Speaking Center services will end on Wednesday, Dec. 4, while the Learning Center services will end on Thursday, Dec. 5. The Writing Center will continue to provide online appointments during the hours listed:
