UAH will hold fall commencement ceremonies
Dec. 16 at the VBC

An estimated 994 degrees will be awarded during two fall commencement ceremonies on Monday, Dec. 16, at the Von Braun Center (VBC) Propst Arena. “There will be much joy on display as we wish our graduates well,” said Dr. Rhonda Gaede, associate provost for undergraduate education and associate professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. “We know that they are going to do great things, and we hope they will return from time to time and share their successes with us."

The UAH Department of Music, Theatre & Film will host Holiday Jazz on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at the UAH Student Services Building. The event begins at 6 p.m. with a cocktail reception, and the concert begins at 7 p.m. It’s not too late to get tickets.

UAH dedicates Black Box Theatre in memory of longtime professor Dr. Robert E. James |
UAH recently honored the memory of an influential former professor with the dedication of the Robert E. James Black Box Theatre in the Morton Hall Atrium on the UAH campus.
“The lives of so many have been enriched by the passionate, generous spirit of Bob James,” said Dr. Sean Lane, dean of the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. “We appreciate the trust Bob placed in us with his gift, and we will work to ensure his legacy continues in ways that do justice to his remarkable life.”

Supporting first-generation student success at UAH |
Since 2021, UAH has focused on better understanding, supporting and celebrating our growing first-generation student population. From launching a student organization, developing a first-gen website and endowing scholarships through alumni giving, UAH is making a difference for first-gen students. UAH recently shared its success on the FirstGen Forward network blog.

Held on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 7:30 a.m., this first of its kind event will focus on the leadership principles set forth by Dr. King and showcase leaders in our community who are making our futures brighter.
