On December 10, 2024, the Business Hub rolled out new updates to improve user experience. The business profile creation process is now integrated into user registration, making it easier to get started. Links to relevant help guides and videos have been added to checklists generated by the Business Checklist tool, streamlining the steps needed to register, amend, or close a business. The Help Center now includes FAQs to assist users with common questions. Additionally, a new action button has been added to My Dashboard to simplify the process of completing the new Annual Report requirement.
| Filing Your 2025 Annual Report
|
Starting in 2025, all registered business and non-profit entities in Pennsylvania must file an annual report with the PA Department of State. This requirement is separate from the voluntary Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) filing.
|
- Corporations (business and nonprofit): January 1–June 30
- Limited liability companies (LLCs): January 1–September 30
-
All other associations (limited partnerships, limited liability partnerships, business trusts, professional associations): January 1–December 31
|
- $7 for most business entities
- $0 for nonprofit corporations and LPs or LLCs with a not-for-profit purpose

NAICS codes describe the industry and activity of a business. They are used for tax filings, loan applications, and various state and federal business registrations, but are not assigned by any government agency.
To find the best NAICS code for your business you can use the Lookup Guide from the NAICS Association or search online (e.g., “What NAICS code should I use for an online retail business?”)
If needed, your NAICS code can be updated on your next federal tax return, but updates are not reported to the PA Department of State. Please note that updating your NAICS code in your PA Business One Stop Shop Hub account does not update the code on any federal or state level.

Quarterly Interagency Collaboration Meeting |
On January 16, we held our first Quarterly Interagency Collaboration Meeting of the year. Representatives from the PA Departments of State, Revenue, Labor and Industry, and Community and Economic Development met to discuss the Business One-Stop Shop’s mission and explore ways to streamline the business administration process in Pennsylvania. These ongoing collaborations help ensure entrepreneurs and business owners receive the support they need to navigate state requirements.
|
Department of Revenue Reporting Changes |
In addition to the PA Department of Revenue’s myPATH system and form
REV-1605, officer updates can now be completed through the PA Department of State’s Business Filing Services system.
|
- If you have not filed an Annual Report yet, submit one to update officer information.
- If you have already filed an Annual Report, submit an Annual Report Update.
