The West Lot- 3B will be reserved on Thursday, October 23 and Friday, October 25 for student and community engagement events.

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month 

In recognition of National Domestic Violence Month, A&M- San Antonio will be lighting up the CAB dome purple to support all domestic violence victims and survivors. Across the nation, a purple porch light is meant to raise awareness about domestic violence and offer support for those looking to escape a dangerous domestic situation. Vote On Campus: Texas A&M University–San Antonio is a Polling Site

Texas A&M University–San Antonio serves as an early voting and Election Day polling site for the upcoming election.

Any registered Bexar County voter can cast their ballot on campus at the Mays Center, Science and Technology Building, Suite 111.

Early Voting Hours:

Monday, Oct. 20 – Friday, Oct. 24: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 25: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Sunday, Oct. 26: 12 p.m.– 6 p.m.

Monday, Oct. 27 – Friday, Oct. 31: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Election Day:

Tuesday, Nov. 4: 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

The Winter’s Tale: A Staged Reading Screening

In this powerful new adaptation of The Winter’s Tale, playwright José Cruz González reimagines Shakespeare’s classic through the lens of indigenous resistance, weaving themes of jealousy, betrayal and redemption into the temporal borderlands of colonial history.

Panel: Linguistic Justice and Indigenous Language Revitalization

During this panel discussion, two scholars will explore language revitalization efforts in distinct indigenous nations, illustrating how these initiatives inform communication, culture, art and education while outlining pathways for support.

Ānua Reyes will discuss the role of indigenous linguists, the decolonial methodologies applied to Pajalate and Native American sign language, and the rejection of colonial frameworks.

Dr. Kathryn Vomero Santos, drawing from Shakespeare in Tongues, will focus on multilingual counternarratives, the impacts of federal Indian boarding schools, indigenous revitalization efforts, border militarization, and struggles over ethnic studies in classrooms.

A&M–San Antonio women’s basketball will face the University of Texas at San Antonio in an exhibition matchup.

 

This will be the first time the two San Antonio programs meet on the court.

11-Month MBA Information Sessions

Learn about the unique benefits of A&M–San Antonio’s accelerated 11-Month MBA program. These sessions will answer prospective students’ questions and serve as a recruitment tool for the Fall 2026 cohort. The program features evening classes (Monday, Wednesday and Friday), a cohort-based model, is open to all majors, and includes books and an international business and cultural experience (travel not included) in the program fee.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the A&M-San Antonio Foundation and other charities across San Antonio, Bexar County and the nation. Your support will strengthen communities and give a helping hand to those in need.  

We’d like to ask if you can consider giving just a few dollars more. For $20 a month, you could provide clinical services to a homeless individual for a month, provide an accessibility ramp to a home, keep a family warm by providing utility assistance to the most vulnerable, provide diabetes medicine and treatment for 20 children, and so much more.

A&M-San Antonio Women’s Basketball to Face UTSA in Exhibition Match

The Texas A&M University–San Antonio women’s basketball team will make history as they face NCAA Division I opponent UTSA in an exhibition matchup on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Convocation Center. Coming off a strong 18-12 season, the Jaguars aim to showcase their growth and talent, led by standout guards Evelyn Lorenzo and Natalia Treviño. This first-ever meeting between the two San Antonio state universities highlights the rising profile of women’s basketball in the Alamo City.

Battle of the Big Cats: A&M-San Antonio and A&M-Victoria Launch New Rivalry Series-need graphic resized

Texas A&M University–San Antonio and Texas A&M University–Victoria have launched an exciting new rivalry called the Battle of the Big Cats, where their Jaguars teams will compete across multiple sports for the Jaguar Cup. The rivalry kicked off with men’s golf in early October and continues with a soccer doubleheader at A&M–San Antonio on October 23. Both schools look forward to building a spirited competition that energizes fans, athletes, and the entire A&M community.

Spirit Program Updates

The A&M San Antonio Spirit Program is  currently updating the request form for all things spirit and wanted to ensure that our Jaguar family was in the know regarding our reservation process.

Please contact tamusaspirit@tamusa.edu for any spirit-related requests until our form is updated on the Recreational Sports website. Note that all requests must be received at least two weeks in advance of the event, but 4 weeks is preferred. 

 

The Growler is the campus newsletter for faculty and staff of Texas A&M-San Antonio. The Growler is published every Tuesday from the start of the semester, providing insight into A&M-SA news, events, and announcements.
