A Pony Press Senior Goodbye |
As I say goodbye to CAC, I want to thank the people and programs that have helped shape me into who I am today. Serving as editor of The Pony Press has grown me as both a creator and a writer, teaching me how to lead with purpose, communicate with clarity, and find my voice
through storytelling. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunities I’ve had to learn, grow and create here. Thank you to the teachers who poured into me, the students who walked alongside me, and the community that always believed in me. A special thank you to CAC Theatre and the
music program for growing me into the musician I am today. Your stage gave me confidence, your rehearsals gave me discipline, and your songs gave me joy. CAC, thank you for everything. You will always be a part of my story.
Love,
Editor Hannah Custer

The Pony Press has been a part of my life for more than three years now. It has been one of the best things I have been a part of at CAC. This year has especially been special because of the crew I got to work with and the people that I got to hang out with. These people will forever be my senior year crew. I have loved getting to work on this publication since I started. It has been amazing to learn about all the things I could do with the media. I have loved this class since I started. Thank you to everyone.

Dear CAC and the pony press, thank you for everything you have provided in my life. I will forever be grateful for the countless memories I have made here. The Pony Press has been something I’m so grateful for and I always will be. I’ve learned to grow and share memories with those around me while doing something i’m passionate about. Thank you my advice to younger students is to always follow your passion and try new things if you think something would be cool to try or you just wanna do something different. Don’t be scared to go out of your comfort zone!

My time at CAC goes all the way back to pre-kindergarten. Since then, I’ve been able to come back every couple of years, eventually making it back for my senior year. I am so grateful that I get to have this opportunity to come back and be with the CAC family one more time. My senior year has been nothing but fun, and I’ve loved getting to know everyone. I have especially loved getting to work on the Pony Press for the entire year. Whether it was creating videos, writing some stories, or finding out what people were listening to, I’m grateful for the opportunity to do all this. Thank you to everyone who read the Pony Press and watched all the videos.

Appreciating Our Teachers |
|
|
Teacher Appreciation Week is a special time to recognize and celebrate the incredible teachers who make a difference in our lives every day. At CAC, we are blessed with teachers who go far beyond just giving lectures or grading assignments. They truly care about each student. They show up early, stay late, and put their hearts into everything they do. Whether they’re explaining a tough math problem, helping with a project, or just asking how we’re doing, they make us feel seen and supported. They encourage us when we’re struggling, celebrate with us when we succeed, and challenge us to become better people both inside and outside the classroom.
Students, take time this week to say "thank you" through either just a handwritten note, small gift, or even just a kind word. CAC teachers pour so much into their work, often without recognition, and this week is our chance to remind them how appreciated they truly are.
Teachers, thank you for the lessons you teach, the patience you show, and the love you give so freely. You’ve helped us grow not just as students but as people. That’s something we’ll carry with us long after we leave your classroom. Happy Teacher Appreciation Week to all our amazing teachers! You are so valued and so loved.

Speak Up! - To the Future, |
Most of us still have a few weeks of school, but this is the final week for seniors! As the year comes to a close, we talked to a few students in each grade about their advice for students coming up next year.

Sydney Dare had some words for current juniors about to take on the role as oldest in the school. The thing she wishes she knew before senior year is, “You’re gonna have mixed emotions, but try your best to soak it all in and enjoy it.” She says senior year is different because of all of the "lasts." “It’s just a lot different because everything ends, and it doesn’t restart.” She’s really looking forward to all of her college opportunities, “but I’m also excited to meet new people and expand my circle.”

For all of the 6th graders going into 7th, Elliott Grant says, “You get more freedom, and you’re able to do more sports and activities.” He says the work seems easier but he has also grown more accustomed to this level of work. “I’m looking forward to being in more plays because it brings me joy but also meeting my new teachers and the classes above.”

Kate Tuxhorn is talking to sophomores going into junior year. “I wish I had better time management skills because junior year is hard, and it’s a lot of work.” One thing that makes junior year different is that most everyone can drive. “Now you can hang out before and after games and spend a lot more time with your friends.” She’s looking forward to all of her classes for senior year and all of the activities that she gets to do. “It’s fun to be upperclassmen, but school-wise it’s kind of hard.” She also talked about how it’s hard to see your senior friends leave.

Foster care is something that is close to Coach Nick Nabors' heart. He and his family are currently fostering a child, and he shared a family photo with The Pony Press staff.
"Not pictured is our foster daughter, L," he said. "The Division of Child and Family services prohibits the sharing of photos publicly of kids in foster care, which is why she is not pictured here. From Left to right is Titus, Me, Anna, Ashley and Cait."
Coach Nick says fostering is important and needed because in Arkansas there are currently 4,500 children in foster care in Arkansas alone and only 1,700 foster families. So there is a big need to take care of these kids — to support and love them as long as they are under the roof of their foster home.
"Foster care is first and foremost important to our family because the Lord calls us to do it," Coach Nick says. "James 1:27 tells us that to truly follow Jesus we will take care of those who are less fortunate, and foster care is our family's calling to take care of those who are unable to care for themselves."

At CAC, senior superlatives are humorous awards that honor members of the senior class in light-hearted categories that match their personalities. Seniors voted for superlatives this year on Thursday, Feb. 27 in categories such as "most likely to get lost on the Buffalo," "life of the party," "worst driver," "class clown," and many others. See the full awards below published in the 2025 yearbook.
