Gavas Beat is a fusion of Latin rhythms and cultures, composed by young musicians with various musical backgrounds from different countries in Latin America, including Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Mexico, and Venezuela.

Gavas’ style blends Latin pop, salsa, merengue, cumbia, vallenato, and reggae, introducing its unique style to classic songs and current hits trending in radio stations across the continent. All are welcome to this free performance on Saturday, September 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the HUB, Ohio Room.

Did you know Homecoming is for the entire IUP community, not just alumni? In November 2023, Miko Rose was selected as the founding dean of the IUP proposed college of osteopathic medicine. There are not enough physicians to serve Pennsylvania citizens, and Rose is committed to addressing underserved communities and creating change in people’s lives.
