This initial release of TSS is focused on delivering the core capabilities needed to support Fall 2026. As with any major system launch, you may encounter limitations, workarounds or functionality that continues to evolve as the system stabilizes. The TSS team is actively reviewing reported issues and prioritizing fixes that affect critical university operations, so please use one of the established TSS support channels to ensure your request is tracked and directed to the right team. To access TSS, ensure you have been approved via the access request form and log in via sis.ucsd.edu.

- Winter 2027 Scheduling Reminder for Department Schedulers and Department Chairs: If a course's instructor has not yet been assigned or is not yet reflected in TSS, list the department chair as the Instructor of Record (IoR), instead of leaving the instructor field blank to avoid downstream impacts in Canvas and other systems.
- To ensure appropriate Canvas set-up, complete the Canvas Instructor Assignment Request form to indicate which course(s) the department chair is teaching as the IoR. Complete the form once for each course.
-
If you have any questions about this process or are unsure whether it applies to your unit, please contact Katherine Collins at k4collins@ucsd.edu, Director of Instructional Technology Solutions, Academic Technology Services.
-
Academic Activity Tracking System (AATS): As of October 7, the AATS has been remediated for compatibility with TSS and is available to faculty/instructors to certify the commencement of academic activity. The Financial Aid & Scholarships Office sent an email to all faculty/instructors on October 7 confirming that due to remediation delays, the deadline for AATS certification process is extended to October 16.
-
Class Photos: At this time, class roster photos are not available in the My Class List Report. Photos can be viewed on an individual student basis via the Find a Student application in TSS. View the Find a Student Faculty job aid for detailed search instructions. The team understands the importance of access to photos at a class list level and is investigating possible solutions.

Students should review their addresses in TSS and make sure they are current. It is recommended that they do not edit the “valid to” end date and leave it as 12/31/9999. Any time a student enters a new address into TSS, it will automatically end-date the prior address. An invalid address can delay a student’s refund even if they are enrolled in direct deposit.
-
Extended Studies Login Issues: Extended Studies (DES) students who are experiencing login issues with TSS should review the “Accessing TSS as an Extended Studies Student” article. Students should contact the ITS Service Desk if they continue to have issues. Students should not drop a course in an attempt to fix the issue. View more DES information, resources, and support on the Extended Studies website
