The topics — related to team leadership in academic medicine — include change management, self-reflection and communicating as a leader, professional identity formation, navigating compromise and more. The series begins Aug. 8, and faculty may register for the entire program or sessions of interest.

Apply for Our Faculty Coaching Program |
Dell Med’s Gretchen Fuller and Kerri Palamara of Harvard Medical School lead this program, which seeks to support assistant professor participants in clarifying their values, strengths and goals, and building academic career fulfillment, momentum and advancement. Experience coach-guided reflection, awareness-building, cohort dialogue and self-defined milestones in the program from July 2025 to January 2026.

We are excited to announce a new position within the Office of Faculty Academic Affairs. The assistant dean of faculty academic affairs will collaborate with our associate director to grow faculty development offerings and engagement while supporting Dell Med faculty appointment and promotion activities.

Hosted by UT’s Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost, this program is designed for mid-career faculty interested in leadership opportunities who have not yet served in a major leadership position. Participants learn about core leadership principles and practices through a structured curriculum held on recurring Fridays during the academic year. Applications are due May 19.

The academy is designed for principal investigators who lead or aspire to lead large-scale, interdisciplinary research initiatives. Participants learn how to scope a collaborative, large-scale research vision with colleagues from different scholarly backgrounds, how to secure external support to realize that shared vision and how to successfully implement and manage their vision. This program is facilitated by UT’s Office of the Executive Vice President and Provost. Applications are due May 19.

Seeking Faculty Peer Supporters |
The Dell Med Professional Fulfillment and Well-Being team is launching a peer support program — and piloting among faculty — to help colleagues after challenging events in the clinical setting. The expected commitment is less than two hours per month, and peer support will take place during daytime work hours Monday to Friday. Faculty members interested in becoming a peer supporter should complete a brief application by May 16.

NIH Grant Writing Boot Camp |
This two-day intensive boot camp combines lectures, hands-on activities and discussions to demystify the National Institutes of Health application process. This training prepares participants to submit an NIH grant proposal that turns reviewers into advocates, positioning the applicant for success. The activity is hosted by Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health.
