IC Client NewsAdvanced Virology: Cutting-Edge Tools for Modernizing Virus ResearchA recent white paper by Advanced Virology (AV) shares how the company is transforming virology research using the latest in virus production techniques to help researchers improve vaccine development and advance antiviral studies. AV’s reverse genetics technology far outperforms traditional methods of virus production for research labs.
Viruses made the old way, by serial passaging, are prone to issues such as genetic drift, loss of virulence, and reduced experimental reproducibility. In contrast, reverse genetics ensures precise control over viral genomes, enabling targeted mutations, increased reproducibility, and safer virus stock production.
AV’s cutting-edge process for manufacturing virus stocks and derivative products represents a paradigm shift by raising the fidelity standards that are required to accelerate virology R&D and manufacturing. This will improve and speed up efforts to create new vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics for viruses.
