Congratulations to Inga Girshfeld for her latest paper, Neural Local Wasserstein Regression, joint with our very own Xiaohui Chen! Inga develops a new approach to estimation using a flexible nonparametric framework that models regression through locally defined transport maps in Wasserstein space, thereby avoiding limitations of global map assumptions and linearization structures. Inga’s work has been accepted for presentation at Topology, Algebra, and Geometry in Data Science (TAG-DS) in San Diego in December 2025 as well as for the Joint Mathematics Meetings in Washington, DC in January 2026. Congratulations and keep up the amazing work, Inga!
