WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This workshop was previously advertised as part of the First-Year Success series. The series has been renamed and is open to all graduate students.
Conferences are important to a graduate student’s career; however, they can pose significant financial and logistical challenges. Participants will learn how to strategically select conferences that benefit their professional development, navigate the "reimbursement culture" of academic travel, and build a lasting research persona through effective networking and etiquette. Whether you are attending your first event or preparing to submit your first proposal, this session provides the practical tools and confidence needed to succeed in these vital professional arenas.
