A huge thank you goes out to everyone who helped make the Supporting HEARTS food distributions at St. Luke's possible. Since April of 2020, this outreach ministry served over 8,400 families over 34,000 meals. More than 15 partner agencies and countless dedicated volunteers helped distribute food each week to those financially impacted by the pandemic. More than 30 volunteers gleaned 22 times for 88 hours in partnership with Society of St. Andrews. Additional support was provided by Pammies Sammies, Kalera Lettuce, Long and Scott Farms, Lake Meadow Naturals, Penske for discounted refrigerator trucks, Sunbelt Rentals for discounted fork lift, Cheers, Publix, UMW bakers, Shepherd’s Hope, Islamic Center, Community Hope Center, and so many more individuals including home bakers and personal home produce gleaners.
St. Luke’s concluded weekly food distributions last month and any guests still needing assistance are now connected with our community partners and other resources. Thank you for contributing your time, talents, gifts, and witness to be the hands and feet of Christ bringing light and hope in the midst of challenge.
