2023 Back-to-School Update

SUU and President Mindy Benson invite you to attend an online community forum on Wednesday, October 25, from 4-5 p.m. MST. The forum will open dialogue between SUU administrators and alumni about the state of the University and its mission of engaging students in the best educational experience in the Intermountain west.

Alumni Leadership Academy Begins October 30

Build your leadership skills by registering for the next Alumni Leadership Academy taking place October 30 - December 18. This online, six-week certificate program will enhance your leaderships skills while also building your resume. Learning facilitators include: Jon McNaughtan, Sandra Lord Thomas, Whitney Johnson, Stuart Jones, Michael Wasden, and Darin Bird.

USF Unveils New Leadership Team

The Utah Shakespeare Festival recently announced John DiAntonio as its new artistic director and Michael Bahr as executive managing director. John is currently the producing artistic director at Creede Repertory Theatre in Creede, Colorado, and Michael has been serving as USF's interim manager since November of 2022.

Breaking Barriers in Football Athletic Training

A remarkable transformation is occurring behind the scenes of the SUU football program, one that is changing the narrative of sports medicine and leadership within the sport. Our Thunderbirds have an all-female athletic training staff, led by alumna Jessie Abbott ('18), a trailblazing force in her field.

New Interprofessional Wellness Program

A new interprofessional mobile wellness program, initiated by the College of Health Sciences and Nursing Professor Mark Siemon, will serve communities in Beaver, Iron, Washington, Garfield, and Kane counties. Anticipated services include: school health assessments, blood pressure screenings, health education, and more.
