LSU’s Choice Credit-Modality (CCM)
|
LSU Dual Enrollment’s Choice Credit modality gives high school students the chance to experience college-level coursework in a no-risk environment. With free training for school instructors and SCA-eligible courses at just $100 per credit hour, this program helps students build academic confidence while earning college credit. Students have 10 days after course completion to opt in or out of their LSU transcript at no additional cost.

Energy Fundamentals Course

The LSU Institute for Energy Innovation is sponsoring Louisiana K-12 teachers to attend the Energy Fundamentals course this summer. Learn about energy markets, systems, and policy—then bring that knowledge back to your classroom.
Eligible teachers can apply for a $1,000 stipend (per week) + free registration.
Courses: June 23–27 or July 7–11

Join Capital Area STEM Network at a Baton Rouge Parish public library near you this summer, where expert professionals in instrumentation, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and automotive will share hands-on skills and techniques that can help make a difference in your everyday life.

M.J Foster Promise Program
|
Applications for the M.J. Foster Promise Program opened yesterday with a newly lowered age requirement of 19. Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA) Scholarship and Grant Director Deborah Paul said the program allows adult students “to pursue short-term training or receive an associate’s degree in certain areas that are considered high-wag, high demand, that aligns with our Louisiana workforce priorities.”

Early-Career Research Fellowship

The Gulf Research Program’s Early-Career Research Fellowship supports emerging scientific leaders as they take risks on research ideas not yet tested, pursue unique collaborations, and build a network of colleagues who share their interest in improving offshore energy system safety and the well-being of coastal communities and ecosystems.

Energy Fundamentals is a weeklong course designed to provide an overview of the U.S. energy sector, with a focus on Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region. Participants will be exposed to the history, science, and economics of producing and consuming energy.
