Twas’ the E-update before New Year's
And all through the church
Not a staff member was stirring, you can even come search.
The clergy were all nestled all snug in their beds
While visions of the New Year danced in their heads.
With one day of giving before the year end
They knew with St. Luke’s givers, they had nothing to dread.
When what should arouse them from this quiet off day
The remembrance that Sunday was not too far away
Come praise team, come tech team, come usher team too
Come Communion, Come Epiphany, Wesley’s covenant we’ll do
“This Sunday at 9:15 together!” they said,
“Online or On campus, from the pew or your bed!”
We’ll sing and we’ll pray and start a new year
With worship and music and friends far and near.
2022 is about to begin…
All four gospels will help us meet Jesus again!
Bring your Bibles for a blessing
As we Learn, Live, Love, Lead
This year will be a blessed one, indeed.
We’ll see you on Sunday, which is in just a few,
And remember, It’s just not St. Luke’s without U!
