Thank You for a Wonderful Year! |
We are at the end of the year. I feel like this year has moved so fast. Hanging Rock has had so many projects, the one BIG project was completing the dining hall addition and then completing all 8 bathrooms in our two dorms. We had another record-breaking summer with 2,773 campers. We have also had a great retreat season with larger retreat groups. So many blessings! Financially, we are about to pay off the new dining hall, many people have stepped up to help meet this need at the camp.
This year has been truly remarkable, filled with growth, challenges, and countless achievements. None of this would have been possible without your dedication, hard work, and unwavering commitment to our shared goals.
Thank you for making this year so memorable. I look forward to seeing what we will accomplish together in the coming year. Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a happy, healthy New Year!

Every time I walk-through, look at, or think about our new dining hall: I can’t help but think, “Wow, God!” We didn’t think we would be in the building till the summer of 2026, but He had different plans. We were able to use the building for summer camp 2025 and retreat season this fall. As we continue to thank God for what He has done for this new building, we also look forward to what’s next.
The decision has been made to update/revamp the current kitchen. With our current setup, there are challenges that we face day in and day out while cooking. After prayerful consideration and lots of conversations, we are excited to share some details about this project. Some of the items we are going to accomplish are as follows: adding floor space by expanding toward the seating area, adding a wall to provide a sound barrier between the kitchen and the dining hall, so as not be a distraction when groups are meeting in there. If you have ever gotten anything out of the freezer, you know it is a nightmare being outside like it is. We are going to rotate the freezer and be able to access it from inside through knocking out some of the wall and framing the freezer entrance in the wall. Also, it can get rather hot back in the kitchen, while we are cooking. Currently there is no air conditioning in that space. So, one of the big items would be adding a/c to the kitchen area. There are upgrades to equipment as well. Adding a new 3 door fridge, a new oven/stove combo that also has a griddle, more prep space, update shelves and storage areas, along with several other items we would like to get accomplished.
We need to raise $30,000 to make this possible. We have the possibility of having a dollar for dollar match up to $30,000. With the potential of $60,000 being spent on a much-needed renovation of the kitchen space! Would you consider helping us reach that goal and get the kitchen updated? You can make your donations online, or via check, just be sure to put Kitchen Update in the memo. God has blessed the camp tremendously through donations for the new dining hall, and I just know He will for this project as well. Thank you in advance for helping make this dream a reality!

Wheeler Foundation Grant Update |

Handicapped Bathrooms Are Officially FINISHED! |
We are so grateful for the grant we have received from the Wheeler Foundation. We now have handicapped bathrooms for all 8 dorms, and this provides us with private bathrooms for the staff and faculty for camp. The total cost of all 8 bathrooms was $173,000. We want to thank Royce Nixon and his team for completing this project. We could not have completed this project without their help. We have one more Wheeler grant project to complete and that is the new sleeping cabin. Wheeler is giving us $60,000 towards this and we pray we get another $60,000 from Lilly. We will have more information on this in our January newsletter.
Hanging Rock is so thankful for Royce & his crew who dedicated so much of their time to work on these handicapped bathroom projects. There are other members from his crew who are not pictured above.
Royce has been battling with bladder cancer through this project. He has remained in great spirits, nevertheless. We would love for you to pray for Royce & his family as they continue to navigate treatment.
