Today, in honor of the beautiful (not!) rain clouds that have kept us company for almost the entire summer, we focus on Cloud Planets.
These ethereal spheres are inspired by actual planets known as "gas giants." Unlike terrestrial planets like Earth and Mars, gas giants such as Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune consist of swirling hydrogen, helium and (thanks to new information from the James Webb Telescope) carbon dioxide and other gasses.
Made with clear and translucent glass, Simpson Cloud Planets seem more fluid than solid, with intriguing depths and hidden layers that reflect light in beautiful and unexpected ways.
