Most likely if you develop sudden symptoms of fever, body aches, chills and sweating, headache, feeling tired, or nasal congestion and cough, you may have the flu.
Health Service can offer a rapid flu test to confirm Flu A or Flu B, and if your symptoms started within 48 hours (two days), you may be able to get an antiviral to help lessen your symptoms. Treatment consists of staying hydrated and using over-the-counter medications like Tylenol and Motrin to help control fever and body aches. Flu symptoms usually last about three to seven days.
Call Health Service at 724-357-2550 or email health-inquiry@iup.edu with questions or to make an appointment.
