The Call for Entries for the 100th Annual Juried Exhibition was sent out via email around 9:30 pm Sunday, August 17. The title of the email is “Pasadena Society of Artists 100th Annual Juried Exhibition Call For Entries.” If you don’t find this email in your regular email file, please take a moment and check your email’s trash file or Spam file. If in fact you have not received it please visit the PSA website, go to the “Members Only” header and drop down menu click on “Exhibitions-Members Only Info”, scroll down to “Call for Entris 2024” and click on 2025 100th Annual. You will receive a download PDF file of the Call For Entries.
Here’s important information about how the selected artwork will be presented at the Pasadena Museum of History. The 100th Annual will be presented to the public in the north gallery of the Pasadena Museum of History. According to the Executive Director, Jeannette O’Malley, the gallery can comfortably present about 50 artworks.
This means if the juror for the 100th Annual selects about 100 artworks (ideal number) then only 50 artworks can be presented at one time. The juror will be informed that no more than 100 artworks may be selected. This assumes that perhaps 150 artworks or more are actually submitted.
There has been a change in the exhibition dates as requested by the museum. The exhibition will now be presented to the public beginning March 1, 2025 and closing September 14, 2025.
The first half of the 100th Annual will open on March 1 2025 and close the end of May 2025. Then the second half of the artwork exhibition will open June 7, 2025 and close September 14, 2025.
The juror, Michael Obermeyer will arrive on Friday, September 27 and begin the jury process and then select the awards. This entire process may take until Saturday, September 28 in the afternoon. There will be lots of art to review and select. All selected artwork will be photographed on Saturday, September 28 and Sunday, September 29.
For visual presentations or social media sites and the catalog all 100 artworks will be presented to the public.
To all PSA members, active or inactive, seriously consider entering this milestone exhibition. It is after all the 100th year of PSA’s existence and to celebrate that there is the opportunity to exhibit in a museum. This is the most prestigious gallery PSA has exhibited in since the Diamond Jubilee in the early 2000s. Your presence in PSA and artwork will be forever preserved in a lavish full color Centennial catalog. Please come and join the party.
