The Fordham International Law Journal invites you to attend its Spring 2025 Symposium: "Economic Sanctions and the Law: Goals, Enforcement, and Procedural and Substantive Limits." ILJ's Symposium, to be held on February 21, 2025, will bring together leading international and domestic scholars, legal practitioners, and former government officials to discuss how international law empowers, channels, and limits the use of economic sanctions, one of the most important tools of national and international security policy today.  The Symposium will explore topics such as the goals of sanctions and how they are shaped by international law; individual due process and other international legal protections for targets of sanctions; limits on sanctions powers coming from international economic law and other international legal regimes; and challenges with implementation and enforcement of sanctions by national governments and international bodies.  Now in its 48th year, the Fordham International Law Journal has long been both a leading publisher of high-quality legal scholarship and commentary and a host of symposia and conferences on international and transnational legal topics.
