NOVEMBER 2024 NEWSLETTER
Dear Parent,

On Friday, October 4, St. Vincent de Paul School Community held its 29th annual SPREE dinner and auction. The night was a memorable night of “coming together” to enjoy good food, great conversation, and an opportunity to support our school and parish. We appreciate the support of those in attendance, along with those who could not attend but supported SPREE in many ways.

A very special thank you to Blake and Andrea Birkel, Ryan and Stacey Cole, Brandon and Lori Hull, and Travis and Amber Jurgensmeier SPREE General Chairs, and Nancy Maiers, SPREE Project Manager. They all went above and beyond to make this event happen, along with hundreds of volunteers. Everyone’s commitment is a testimony that the St. Vincent de Paul community remains strong and faithful.

Thank you to all who donated to our Fund-An-Item. The proceeds from this year’s Fund-An-Item will go to people that are very near and dear to all of our hearts—SVdP teachers and staff. We have a very dedicated group of teachers and staff that are committed to teaching, guiding, and supporting your children. They go above and beyond to help each child develop into the best they can be on so many levels. I am grateful, beyond words, for each and every one of them. Thank you for recognizing their hard work and dedication by supporting this year’s Fund-An-Item.

A very, very special thank-you to the grandparents of our students! They continually support our school in so many ways and we cannot begin to express our appreciation for their ongoing support with this project and their grandchildren. We all have some very special people supporting and helping us. Thank you!!

We look forward to seeing everyone at Conferences. Thank you again for your support and kindness.

Happy November!
Barbara A. Marchese, Principal

Inclement weather

With the cold weather and SNOW upon us, we want to remind you about the expectations for winter apparel at recess time. For all the students in Grades K-8, winter coats, gloves or mittens, and something to cover the head are important. In the event of inclement weather, please listen to radio station KFAB (1110 AM) or any local TV station for school closing information. St. Vincent de Paul follows the decision made by Omaha Catholic Schools.
Also, if sending your female students with leggings, please remember that leggings must extend to the ankle bone. Socks must be worn and leggings should not be worn as pants.
Thanksgiving Vacation
Thanksgiving vacation begins Tuessday, November 27 at 3:15 P.M. Classes resume Monday, December 2. We pray that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. This year we have so much to be thankful for as a school community. We are very thankful for our students and families. Happy Thanksgiving!
