In Everyman’s upcoming production of Queens Girl: Black in the Green Mountains, Helen Hayes Award-winning actor Deidre Staples steps into the role of Jacqueline Marie Butler to portray the story of her years at Bennington College during the vibrant, yet turbulent, years of 1968–1972.
In this installment, we follow Jackie’s experience with trying to make friends in a new place as she also navigates her own self-discovery amidst a time of social upheaval. Staples takes the reins from other incredible actors who have played Butler in the past, including Felicia Curry, Dawn Ursala, and Erika Rose, for this reimagined production led by director Danielle A. Drakes.
