SAP/RFP Progress Update. DCYF is deeply engaged in our SAP and RFP development processes. Our work so far has included fleshing out our Results Areas, exploring findings from our Community Needs Assessment, understanding our current investments, and determining gaps. SAP and RFP development will continue over the next several months.

City and SFUSD Partner Workgroups. For the SAP, DCYF is coordinating with our City Department and SFUSD partners through a series of Partner Workgroups focused on specific service areas. These workgroups started on January 18 with youth workforce development partners, including the Human Rights Commission, the Office of Economic & Workforce Development, the Juvenile Probation Department, and SFUSD. In mid-February we will host a workgroup with juvenile justice partners, and in mid-March we will convene a workgroup focused on mental health.

Oversight & Advisory Committee (OAC) Meetings. DCYF encourages grantees and the folks they serve to attend our OAC meetings. DCYF will provide SAP and RFP updates at these meetings, and will officially release the first draft of the SAP at the OAC meeting on April 10, 2023. OAC meetings are held virtually on Zoom. Learn more about the OAC and access the OAC meeting schedule here.

Grantee and Service Provider SAP Engagement Opportunities with DCYF. We know grantees are very interested in engaging with DCYF about the SAP and RFP. We are offering the following engagement opportunities for grantees and service providers:
  • Juvenile Justice Providers Convening: Late February 2023 (date & time TBD). This convening will be an opportunity for juvenile justice providers, including members of the Juvenile Justice Providers Association (JJPA), to learn more about DCYF’s SAP, RFP, and Results framework, consider how their work fits within our Results Areas, and share gaps they are seeing in their work, especially within the context of the current juvenile justice system.
  • Service Providers Working Group Virtual Convening: February 22, 2023, 10am to 11am. The SPWG's Virtual Convening will be an opportunity for grantees and service providers to learn about DCYF’s SAP, RFP, and Results Framework, consider how their work fits within our Results Areas, and share gaps they are seeing in their work.
  • All Grantee Meeting: March 2023 (date & time TBD). Our in-person All Grantee Meeting will be an opportunity for grantees to learn more about DCYF’s SAP, RFP, and Results framework, consider how their work fits within our Results Areas, and share gaps they are seeing in their work.
Technical Assistance for the RFP. DCYF will provide technical assistance to help grantees prepare to apply for DCYF’s 24-29 RFP. Technical assistance opportunities for the RFP will kick-off in May 2023.

If you have any questions about this update, or about DCYF’s SAP and RFP, please reach out to Aumijo S. Gomes, DCYF's Deputy Director of Strategic Initiatives.

DCYF's Land Acknowledgement Statement

The San Francisco Department of Children, Youth and Their Families acknowledges that it carries out its work on the unceded ancestral homeland of the Ramaytush Ohlone, the original inhabitants and stewards of the San Francisco Peninsula. As the government agency that stewards the Children and Youth Fund, we accept the responsibility that comes with resources derived from property taxes upon unceded and colonized land. We recognize the history and legacy of the Ramaytush Ohlone as integral to how we strive to make San Francisco a great place for life to thrive and children to grow up.
