Dear Tracey,
We know that many of your students are still finishing up the last part of their high school experience while also preparing for their arrival at Tulane. Encourage your student to keep up with the online modules they need to complete this summer. The June module is now open. If your student has not finished the May module, urge them to complete it soon so they'll be ready for their summer advising appointment to register for fall semester courses.

Welcome Message from the
Newcomb-Tulane College Advising Team |
|
|
Dear Tulane Families,
Welcome to Tulane! As an advisor with over 20 years of experience in education, I am excited to help lead the Newcomb-Tulane College Advisors that will support your student during their time at Tulane. As Associate Director of Student Engagement, my role is to support students, advisors, and campus partners through the Newcomb-Tulane College (NTC) Core Curriculum while assessing academic options, policies, and support resources.
Our advisors are ready to meet your students this summer to complete their fall registration. Information on how we manage registration for new students is on our Incoming Student website. Over the summer, we will post new communication or information as it comes available.
By the end of next week, your student will receive an email to their Tulane email from College Advising inviting them to make a mandatory advising appointment between June 9 and July 11. Students must register for an appointment. At their appointment time, their registration access will be activated to make changes while students are meeting with our advising team.
A few helpful notes as you support your student through registration from home:
|
- Register for our Family Programs webinar Supporting Your Student Through Academic Planning and Course Registration scheduled June 10, 2025 at 6 p.m. Central Time.
-
Please ensure your student has engaged in the online modules set up by our First-Year Experience Team.
- Summer advising appointments are for students! Support your student post-appointment and when they adjust their schedule later this summer.
-
When searching for classes on the schedule of classes, your student should keep in mind that what is available on the day of the search may change by the day of the appointment. The advising team is keenly aware of required classes that are full and will continue to work with college leadership to meet real course needs for first-semester students.
- We have placed an advisor registration hold on all students with June or July meetings. These holds are lifted on the day of the student's appointment.
- Students will have 72 hours to make schedule changes before their registration closes again. All students will have access to schedule changes again later this summer.
-
It is always advantageous for students to have several interests and backup course ideas written down before their appointments. We may use these in their first semester schedule or plan it for a future semester. Either way, it helps us get to know your student.
-
The advisor that your student meets with this summer may not be the advisor your student works with later this fall. However, our advisors are a team, and we are all here to support everyone throughout the summer.

Thank you!

Register for a Hello Wave Event
Near You This Summer! |
Each summer, through the Hello Wave program, Tulane rolls out the green carpet to welcome new students to the Tulane family. Hello Wave events are festive gatherings sponsored by the Tulane Alumni Association and its alumni clubs across the country. These casual events bring alumni, current students, and incoming students and their families together in their hometowns to celebrate the university’s newest arrivals before they head to Tulane. Past, current, and future Tulane students are given the opportunity to connect with each other through this favorite tradition that kicks off a student’s Tulane career. Incoming students and families are welcome to attend the Hello Wave in their hometown or any other Hello Wave event across the country. Search for events here.

Campus Services – Tutorial on Move-In Mailing and Shipping Services |
The division of Campus Services provides several resources to assist your student’s daily life on campus. We are the bookstore, the Tech Connect computer store, dining services, facilities, events, mail, shuttles, and more. Visit our online student resources hub to access information about textbooks and dining plans, answers to frequently asked questions, and how to contact us.
As you and your student prepare for your first Tulane fall semester, make sure to also bookmark the Campus Services Student Due Dates webpage so you can keep track of upcoming deadlines.
Move-In Mailing & Shipping Services and Tutorial
Around mid-June, Tulane Mail Services will send a detailed instruction packet for mailing and shipping belongings to campus to all incoming new students' permanent home addresses. The same instructions are also being emailed to students' Tulane email addresses in mid-June. The instructions are customized to include each student's Tulane mailing address.
Tulane University Mail Services and Housing and Residence Life staff prepared a video tutorial to help you understand how the process works. Watch it now to learn more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwnWxE9ioOo.
