School Building Updates
During the summer, the windows in the three entry doors to the school were replaced. These doors are at the main entrance, the junior high entrance, and the playground doors in the back of the school. This replacement includes all the doors, both exterior and interior, at the three entrances. The new glass is stronger and thicker safety glass and will provide added security to the building.

Water Bottles for This Year
We have an increasing number of water bottles that are not within the school’s guidelines. Because of this we have students bringing drinks other than water, spilling their water because the tops do not screw closed, and squirting out. Many text books are getting ruined and water damaged which is causing mold on the books. This is a very costly problem. Students do not need to have water bottles, as we do have working water fountains. If you choose to send your child with a water bottle, please follow the guidelines:
No glass containers or glass water bottles are allowed at school. This includes lunch boxes. Containers should be clear and contain water only. No Gatorade bottles are allowed.

School Uniforms
Parents, we ask you to help monitor the uniform dress code. One are of concern in the past has been the length of skirts/skorts, which are to be 3 inches above the knee. Uniform guidelines will be enforced, and extra uniforms will be available for students not in compliance.
For questions regarding uniforms and dress code, please refer to the Family Handbook that can be found on the school website. Just a reminder that students are to be in uniform at all times on campus and when attending school-sponsored functions off campus during the day.

Reminders about dismissal
Just a quick reminder about parking lot assignments. We ask that parents please park in their assigned lot at dismissal. If the lot to which you are currently assigned is not the most convenient, please contact Courtney Eden at edenc@svdpomaha.org to get that changed. Please remember that Eagle Run Drive is NOT an approved parking area at dismissal, and we ask that you not park there. It causes increased congestion as cars are attempting to exit the lot. If you are assigned the “far west lot”, please exit in the right lane and head west on Eagle Run Drive. Do not attempt to cross over into the left lane. Please see page 16 of the the family handbook, which states,
Please enter and exit only from the west entrance of the parking lot if you are assigned to the west side; please enter and exit only from the east entrance of the parking lot if you are assigned to the east side. Cars should be in their assigned areas no later than 3:10 P.M. Parents arriving late should not pull into the circular drive directly in front of school. Parking on the side streets is not allowed.
Cars exiting the lot to the east will be expected to turn left on Eagle Run Drive and head east. There will be TWO EXIT LANES FROM THE WEST SIDE OF THE PARKING LOT. The right lane should be used by drivers who will be turning right onto 144th Street. The middle lane should be used by drivers turning left onto 144th Street or going straight across 144th Street. Cars exiting from the west exit SHOULD NOT proceed east (NO left turn onto Eagle Run Drive).
