As we head into the last stretch of the semester, I know this can be a particularly stressful time for many of you. With exams approaching, world events weighing on our minds, and the upcoming elections, it’s important to prioritize your mental health and well-being. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed—just remember you have resources to help. Counseling and Psychological Services is always here for you, whether you need someone to talk to, support managing stress, or guidance on how to cope with election anxiety.

With Halloween just around the corner, I also want to remind everyone that Bobcats look out for one another. While Halloween celebrations in Athens are not University-sponsored, we know they’re a big part of the student experience. Review Housing rules (guest registration closed), be mindful when planning your costumes and know that resources like CATS Late Night Transit and our campus safety programs are available if you need them.

I’m proud of all the hard work you’ve put in so far, and I’m here to support you in finishing the semester strong.

Leadership Awards nominations and applications are open! There are several categories, including new awards recognizing students’ contribution to the OHIO Online community and the communities they reside in. Some awards have a financial award or scholarship component.

OHIO has joined the nationwide initiative of The Jed Foundation (JED) designed to help schools evaluate and strengthen their mental health, substance misuse, and suicide prevention programs and systems. For us to move in the right direction, we need to know how things are really going with your mental health and experiences at OHIO. Complete the survey you receive to enter to win prizes and help us keep moving every OHIO student Forever Forward.

This week is a time to celebrate and recognize transfer students and the professionals who guide them in their transfer journey. Stop by the Online, Transfer and Credit Services Center table in Baker University Center today from 12-3 p.m. and share your transfer story, show your support for OHIO transfer students and grab a sticker.
