UCO and the Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Partner to Support Workforce Development Through Micro-Credentials
|
UCO and the Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce have formed a new partnership to connect Oklahoma City’s growing Hispanic community with higher education.
Through the agreement, LX Studio at UCO will serve as the chamber’s exclusive education partner for micro-credential development, linking UCO’s respected academic programs with the needs of local businesses and creating new pathways to learning and career growth.
“Together, the University of Central Oklahoma and the Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are meeting critical workforce demands through high-quality, relevant training and education, while expanding opportunities for our Hispanic community to thrive,” said UCO President Todd G. Lamb.
“As Oklahoma’s largest metropolitan university, UCO is uniquely positioned to be the educational partner of choice for businesses and organizations across the state.”

New Procedure for University Communications Project Requests |
University Communications has transitioned all service requests to a centralized ticketing system, effective Oct. 1. Projects requested before this date do not have to be resubmitted in the new system.
Ticket requests will cover all projects offered by University Communications and Photo Services, including web content, communications consultations, writing support, Brand Review, design needs, photo requests or other marketing-related services. Centralities requests will also need to be made through the ticketing system going forward. The new system will help ensure efficient tracking and management across projects.

The UCO Benefits forum will be from 2:30-4 p.m., today, Oct. 2, in the Nigh University Center, Heritage Room, Room 326. The forum will discuss the current state of the university’s benefits plan, the philosophy behind the team’s decision-making and some notable changes that will be made in the 2026 plan year. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
The UCO Office of Information Technology will livestream the event beginning 5-10 minutes prior to the start time. Users must log in to their UCO Zoom account to attend.

UCO Football to Host Central Missouri, Oct. 4 |
UCO Football will host Central Missouri at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 4, at Chad Richison Stadium, followed by a drone show. Full-time UCO faculty and staff are eligible to receive two free football tickets per home game this Broncho Football season. Visit the ticketing website, select the game you wish to attend and use the promo code UCOFS25.

Gemini Pro Subscriptions Now Available for Faculty and Staff |
Gemini Pro subscriptions can now be purchased for UCO faculty/staff accounts through the Central Tech Store on a cost-per-user basis. These one-year subscriptions provide access to the latest features of the AI tool and will need to be renewed annually.
Departments are encouraged to decide how many subscriptions are needed and purchase them in bulk. Purchases must be made by an approved purchaser with supervisor approval using a PCard.
Order subscriptions on the Central Tech Store – Software Licenses page and remember to never use personal AI accounts for UCO business.
