Collaboration, Always
by Stacy McNeiland
Henry Ford once famously said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
As we begin to emerge from the pandemic, examples of collaboration abound. Over the last year, we’ve all lived through history, and while none of us would choose to relive the pandemic, there is a silver lining to be found in the ingenuity and collaboration that have made recovery possible.
Take for example the speed at which Oklahoma has rolled out a massive vaccination effort. Thanks to federal and state leaders and partnerships with local health care service providers, vaccines are widely available in Oklahoma, even as other states are still in early immunization phases. Because of the widespread availability and adoption of Covid-19 vaccines, we may well get our summer back this year

Happy Spring! This year seems to be flying by, but I am ready for warmer weather and getting out of the house more with the family! It's an exciting time of year in the Rotary world as we prepare the incoming presidents for their new roles, which will started this past weekend at PETS. Our incoming District Governor - Matt Tipton, has been busy preparing for the year, and I'm excited to have his leadership guide us through our new normal.

eRYLA
July 7-11, 2021
Camp RYLA will be virtual coast-to-coast for 2021. Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is all about Rotarians, professionals in your local community, working with youth to develop our future leaders. It is an intensive training/experiential program for high school students in their pivotal high school years, who are chosen for their proven or potential leadership abilities. Students participate in an all-expense paid retreat, this year held in a virtual setting (eRYLA). The camp is run by Rotary members and RYLA Alumni. Student attendance is sponsored by Rotary Clubs from throughout District 5750, which means attendance is free for qualified high school students. Students are joined by talented young people from communities throughout the district. eRYLA provides a memorable opportunity to learn, grow, have fun, make new friends, and gain a new and improved focus.

Rotary Peace Fellowship Application
Rotarians, by coming together in service, work towards a better world. Local and global service to fight disease, expand education, grow local economies, and protect the environment provide immediate benefits for many. Together these actions contribute to Rotary’s highest calling of laying the foundations for peace in our communities. Rotary supports peacebuilding efforts directly through awarding up to 130 fellowships each year to community leaders from around the world. The Fellows pursue a master’s degree or professional certification at one of five Rotary Peace Centers. The fellowship covers all tuition and fees, room and board, transportation, and study related expenses.
