Minneapolis City Council approves new rules for cannabis businesses: The Minneapolis City Council on Thursday voted 12-1 to approve an ordinance governing the location and operation of cannabis businesses operating within city limits. The lone holdout was Council Member Linea Palmisano, who objected to an amendment introduced by members Aurin Chowdhury and Emily Koski that eliminated a required 300-foot minimum distance between retail stores. That amendment was also approved Thursday. The ordinance sets no limits on the number of cannabis businesses that may be licensed in the city and prohibits dispensaries within 300 feet of schools. The measure now heads to Mayor Jacob Frey for his signature. More information about the city's adult-use cannabis amendment can be found here.

But there is no strong evidence that it is behind schedule, mostly because there has never really been a schedule,” Peter Callaghan writes for MinnPost. Read more.
