Leave-eligible employees may use up to eight hours per fiscal year of wellness time off. These hours may be used to support physical, mental, or emotional well-being or for any reason personally meaningful to you. To qualify during the plan year, receive a preventive care exam and complete a well-being assessment.

Running Away From Home: Parent/Adult Estrangement and Repair  

This session explores the growing phenomenon of estrangement between adult children and parents, including why it happens and how repair is possible. Framed through attachment theory, the discussion will offer evidence-based insights and practical strategies, with time for Q&A. Register through UT Learn.

Is This Grief I'm Experiencing?

This session explores the stages and types of grief, how it can show up emotionally and physically, and practical self-care strategies to support yourself and others. Eldercare Support Group

This group meets virtually on Tuesdays through April 21, offering support for those who provide care for other adults, such as parents or partners. Members will be able to share their experiences, receive support, and learn about community resources. Current employees and retirees are welcome to join. The group will meet Tuesdays, March 24 through April 21, virtually. Email eap@austin.utexas.edu for more information and to schedule a pre-group meeting. 

 

THURSDAY, APRIL 9, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.

Beyond the Wound: Understanding the Impact of Trauma and Building Health Coping Skills

This session will help participants understand where trauma comes from, what it looks like and how to build healthy coping skills by implementing an integrative and collaborative approach that addresses relationships, our awareness of our own sensations, and the power of connection for healing. EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

The HealthPoint Employee Assistance Program (EAP) counselors provide confidential behavioral health expertise to assist the UT community in developing solutions to life's challenges. Administrative support for HealthPoint EAP is provided by UT Austin's Central HR team but all counseling and management consultation services and communications are accessible only within the EAP as required by law.
