Teacher of the Month - February 2022
In cooperation with the Mayor's office and City Council, the Rotary Club of Okla. City recognizes an outstanding teacher in our community.
Duncan Fugitt has taught Physics at Edmond North High School for seven years and developed the first STEM course in his school district that offers a collaborative learning experience between math and science. He also served as the head coach for the Boys Tennis program for the past six years and led them to two 6A State Championships in 2018, and 2019, and two runner-up finishes in 2017, and 2021.
Duncan received his Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering from OU in 2013 where he graduated summa cum laude. He is a member of the National Science Teachers Association and works with many other teachers in the district to help develop and implement engaging curriculum that allows students to experience science in an engaging and personal way; he is also a member of the U.S. Tennis Association, seeking to continually improve as a coach to better serve his student-athletes.
Duncan was awarded the 2021 Edmond Public Schools - District Teacher of the Year, and is a passionate and dynamic teacher who values each day as an opportunity to help his students grow as students and as people.
