As announced last academic year, UIC is implementing Interfolio as the university’s system for promotion and tenure review, faculty activity tracking and reporting, and web profiles. I encourage you to visit the Interfolio at UIC webpage, if you have not already, which serves as the central resource for this initiative. The webpage provides a comprehensive overview, including module details, training opportunities, frequently asked questions, and support resources.
The phased launch of Interfolio at UIC will now introduce the Faculty Activity Reporting (FAR) module, which will be required for the 2027-28 P&T review cycle in combination with the Review, Promotion and Tenure (RPT) module. RPT has already been launched for use in the 2026-27 P&T review cycle. The Web Profiles module will go live in November and will replace the current profiles and interface on uicollaboratory.uic.edu.

FAR TRAINING DATES & ACCESS
The Interfolio webpage has recently been updated to include the scheduled training dates and Zoom links for the FAR module for the following user roles:

- FAR System Administrators
- Tuesday, September 29th | 3:00 – 4:30 pm. | Join via Zoom
For users who will manage settings, emulate user profiles, and support overall system use and management. This may include Faculty Administrators and HR/P&T Coordinators.
- Faculty

Wednesday, September 30th | 1:00 – 2:00 pm. | Join via Zoom
For all Faculty users. FAR System Administrators are also encouraged to attend this training to support their Faculty.
- Reporting
- Tuesday, October 6th | 2:00 – 3:00 pm. | Join via Zoom
For Faculty and Staff users who will work on data reporting in the system.

Learn more about FAR Account Types and Administrative Access Rights to help determine user roles and responsibilities.

FAR launch and training details will be included in the OVPFA Fall Newsletter for all faculty, scheduled for release on September 9th. Deans and UEOs are asked to have their faculty review FAR details in the newsletter, especially faculty who will be reviewed in the 2027-28 P&T review cycle. Training details should also be shared with unit coordinators and other staff involved in the P&T review or reporting process.
All training sessions will be recorded and available to view on the P&T webpages for Faculty, for Administrators & Coordinators, and on the Interfolio at UIC webpage.

Guidance for entering and validating faculty activity data in FAR, including reference material on the data sources being utilized to load base data, will be provided upon launch.
- The 2027-28 P&T guidelines will also include detailed guidance for using FAR in combination with RPT, and are scheduled to be released in January 2027, along with updated RPT Case Templates.

The OVPFA Reviews Team will continue offering office hours for Interfolio related support to all users through the launch. Questions can always be sent to facultyreviews@uic.edu.

Consultation opportunities and learning resources provided by Interfolio are available to all users for both FAR and RPT.
