Enter the Homecoming Hornet Golf Cart Parade
We are continuing a favorite tradition, the Golf Cart Parade on Saturday, Oct. 18! Showcase your creativity, build community, and celebrate what makes Sac State special. Student organizations, as well as departments, programs and employee resource groups, are encouraged to put a modern twist on the classic Homecoming float by decorating a cart. Register by Oct. 8. Enter a golf cart decorated to show your team’s Hornet pride, and walk alongside to cheer and engage with the crowd. Call for applications: JAAC Undergraduate Research Travel Grant
Interested in researching the Japanese American Experience? Applications are now being accepted for the Japanese American Archival Collection Undergraduate Research Travel Grant (JAAC URTG). The program provides two fellowships of up to $3,000 for individuals to conduct onsite research at the University Library’s Special Collections & University Archives.

Make-up enthusiast and Bath & Body Works fans, the Hornet Bookstore will have an Elevate U/Bath & Body Works grand opening on Oct. 2, 2025, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. We’ll have:

Celebrate the unveiling of Sac State’s Haiku Post on Thursday, Oct. 2! Join a haiku writing workshop at 1:15 p.m. in Hinde Auditorium, hear remarks by Matsuyama Mayor Katsuhito Noshi and President Luke Wood at 2:15 p.m. in the University Union Lobby, and enjoy cultural activities with the Japan Club at 3 p.m. in Ballroom 3. K-Pop Night: A night of music, dance performances and fun!
Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of K-Pop at Sac State’s K-Pop Night on Thursday, Oct. 2, from 7:30–9:30 p.m. in the University Union Ballroom. Sac State student DJs from KSSU will bring the jams and student dance crews Ekho and Krescendo will perform. Get creative with photo card and bracelet making, and savor tasty Korean snacks provided by KP International Market. This high-energy celebration of music, dance and culture is not to be missed. October Tea Gatherings at the University Library
Students are invited to attend a tea gathering in the Sokiku Nakatani Tea Room. Built around the time-honored art form of Chado, the Way of Tea, the tea room provides a unique opportunity for students to study Japanese aesthetics and traditional arts. Tea gatherings include a brief lecture and demonstration and end with a bowl of tea, for those who wish to partake. Individual reservations are now available for October, make your reservation on our website. Friends of the University Library Book Bin open Oct. 1-2
The Friends of the University Library Book Bin, located on the lower level of the University Library, will be open for used book sales from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1, and Thursday, Oct. 2. Students are invited to browse the Book Bin’s interesting and extensive inventory. Gently used hardback and trade paperback books are $2 each or three for $5. There is also a collection of artwork, music scores, audio recordings, long-playing records, CDs, DVDs and a large selection of children’s books. Cash or check only. All proceeds directly support the University Library.

Tahoe Forest Backpacking!

The CSU Chancellor’s Office established an Interim Systemwide Time, Place and Manner Policy (TPM), outlining rules for when and where expression is allowed on campus. Expression and assembly rights must comply with all relevant laws and University policies. Our Campus Activities Response Team assists the campus community with support related to these policies.
