To Our Ice World Family, 

 

We know by now that you have likely heard the devastating news that our Coach, Alexandr “Sasha” Kirsanov, tragically passed away in the American Airlines plane crash late last night. Sasha, a beloved member of the Ice World community, was traveling back from a developmental camp in Wichita.

 

It is hard to grasp the enormity of this devastating loss. In his many years with Ice World, Sasha coached, mentored, and made such an incredible impact not only on our young skaters but also on so many of you who knew and loved him. His absence will be felt deeply, along with the loss of so many others with so much promise and life to live from our close-knit ice skating community. 

 

We will be having grief counselors and support services available on-site at Ice World on Saturday morning and Tuesday evening. We extend our love and support to all the families, we are here to help you and the rest of the community through this immeasurable grief.
