Like many of you, I learned Friday of the arrest of a Hoboken resident in connection with an alleged terror plot. Given that the individual is a graduate of Stevens, I want to address this matter directly.
Let me be unequivocal: Stevens condemns all acts of violence and threats of violence. Such actions are incompatible with who we are as a university and as a community.
The accused individual is in federal custody. Stevens Campus Police and the Hoboken Police Department are in close contact with the FBI, and there are no known threats to the Stevens community. There is no known connection between this matter and any activities on our campus. Stevens Campus Police remains aware and vigilant.
